Are seats allocated on Scandinavia Express
buses? Not generally, but specific seats can be requested at
the time of reservation. Otherwise seating is first come, first
serve. Although all buses have rows of four seats across, seat
numbering varies according to the bus type. Some have rows marked
numerically from the front of the bus with seats marked a, b, c, d
across (left to right facing the front). Other buses have only seat
numbers starting front left.
Are reservations required for
travel? Yes but tickets have to be purchased three days in
advance or the reservation will be cancelled. Any unreserved seats
left will available an hour prior to departure on a first-come,
first-served basis.
Why are reservations required? Most travellers plan their
trips in advance and want to be assured of getting to their
destination on specific dates. Operating a reservations system
provides that assurance and allows Scandinavia Express to plan for
those periods when excess capacity may be required.
Is smoking allowed on
board? No. In accordance with legal requirements governing
public transportation and for the benefit of most of our passengers, smoking is
not permitted on Scandinavia Express busses. Smokers are requested to disembark
the bus at designated stops during the journey.
Are meals provided on board? No. Meals
are not provided, though there are regular meal stops on extended
routes.
Are food and drink allowed on
board? Yes. Food and non-alcoholic beverages may be carried
on board for personal consumption. However Scandinavia Express does
supply a variety of sweets, biscuits, water and soft drinks free of
charge during the journey.
Are radios, laptops, cellular phones, or
electronic games allowed on buses? Radios, laptops and other
electronic items may be carried on board, provided that they do not
disturb fellow passengers and that headphones are used. (Please note
that external power outlets are NOT available on Scandinavia Express buses.)
Can I place my child in a child safety
seat?
Customers are welcome to use child safety seats on Scandinavia Express
coaches. You should ensure that your child seat has
been approved for use in a motor vehicle, and is used in accordance
with the manufacturer's instructions. Although seat lap belts are
installed in our coaches and can be used to secure the child seat, it is your responsibility to
secure the child seat to the bus seat with strapping or webbing that
is approved by the child seat manufacturer. You are responsible for
providing the strapping or the webbing. There are no seat mountings
in the coaches to attach shoulder belt/harness.
Are pets allowed on board? No dogs,
cats, birds, or other animals will be transported. However, with
prior approval, a
service animal, trained for the purpose of accompanying a disabled
person, will be permitted to travel with the disabled person at no
additional charge.
Are pillows and blankets available for
overnight travel? No, but you are welcome to bring your own
within your carry-on luggage.
Do the buses show movies on
board? Yes. Scandinavia Express buses have fitted TV video
sets and one or more videos will be shown during the journey. These
movies are generally for all ages or PG rated.Should there
