What will I be charged for my package?

Scandinavia PackageXpress has very competitive rates for the carriage of packages. Price varies according to weight, dimensions and the distance to destination. If you know the weight and dimensions of your package, please use our online QUOTE service.
Money transfer charges are based on the value of the cash being transferred.


What type of shipping services does Scandinavia PackageXpress provide?

Scandinavia PackageXpress is an economical way to deliver packages safely and promptly to points which we serve. Counter-to-counter service for packages, cargo and money is available from our main terminal and regional offices. A door-to-door courier service will soon be available in selected areas. What are the maximum package sizes and weights that Scandinavia PackageXpress allow?

Due to the limitations of the coach hold sizes and coach hold floor strengths Scandinavia PackageXpress limits the size of any one package to ?? (H) ?? (W) ?? (L) and the weight to ?? kgs.


Are there any restrictions on the type of goods that
Scandinavia PackageXpress allow?

Scandinavia PackageXpress is primarily a passenger carrier. As such, restrictions on certain types of goods are necessary safety precautions. A comprehensive list of restricted goods can be found in Terms and Conditions. Here are a few examples:

  • Petroleum products.
  • Explosives.
  • Fireworks.
  • Acids and corrosive materials.
  • Noxious goods.
  • Radioactive material.
  • Livestock


What type of goods wrapping does Scandinavia PackageXpress require?

Scandinavia PackageXpress requires all packages be suitably wrapped and bound. A small selection of wrappings can be purchased from Scandinavia PackageXpress counters prior to consignment.


How can I trace the whereabouts of my package or goods?
Our clients can trace their goods shipped with Scandinavia PackageXpress by completing our online tracing form in our Tracing Service section.

 


What liability has Scandinavia PackageXpress for packages that are lost or damaged?

All items are carried entirely at the sender’s risk and it is strongly suggested that all goods be insured. Insurance can be purchased from our offices prior to dispatch. However should packages be lost or damaged Scandinavia PackageXpress  may, at its sole discretion, pay compensation up to five thousand Tanzania shillings (5,000/=) per kilogram of lost or damaged goods with a maximum compensation of one hundred thousand Tanzania shillings (100,000/=). How can I claim for packages that are lost or damaged?

All claims for compensation must be submitted in writing to the office of dispatch
within seven (7) days from the date
Scandinavia PackageXpress accepted the items. Read Terms and Conditions for details.

 


Does
Scandinavia PackageXpress guarantee delivery within a certain time?
No.
Scandinavia PackageXpress makes every reasonable effort to deliver packages at the earliest opportunity based on the normal operational schedule but will not guarantee delivery on any particular day.

What amounts of cash will Scandinavia PackageXpress transfer?

There is no minimum or maximum amount of cash that Scandinavia PackageXpress will transfer.


How should I wrap the cash?

Scandinavia PackageXpress requires all packages be suitably wrapped, bound and addressed. A small selection of wrappings can be purchased from Scandinavia PackageXpress counters prior to consignment.

 


What documentation is required in order to collect money transferred?

Scandinavia PackageXpress requires the addressee or their designated representative to present a valid identity card and the special code number, accurately written, that was given to the sender at the point of dispatch.


Will I be charged if there is a delay in collecting packages or money?

If after seven (7) days from the date of delivery to the destination Scandinavia PackageXpress  office the package or cash has not been claimed by the intended recipient, demurrage charges will be levied at the rate of one thousand Tanzania shillings (1,000/=) per day or part thereof for each item.
